Distinctive Unit Insignia


Description/Blazon
A Gold color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height overall consisting of a shield blazoned: Gules, a hurt fimbriated Or, overall a sword of the like with stylized wings Argent. Attached below the shield a Blue scroll doubled and inscribed "SUPPORT TO ALL" in Gold.

Symbolism
Dark blue and scarlet are the colors traditionally associated with the Adjutant General's Corps. Gold is emblematic of high achievement and excellence. The colors red, white and blue and the wing pattern within the annulet recall the 82d Airborne Division's shoulder sleeve insignia. The sword underscores a strong defense and military preparedness.

Background
The distinctive unit insignia was approved effective 16 January 1995.
